A couple in South Carolina was devastated when their young dog, Rajah, escaped their yard after being spooked by fireworks. Rajah is a speedy pup and so her owners, Mary Lynn and Ryan, were unsure how far she had gotten.
The couple searched for nearly 7 hours but couldn't locate Rajah.
"Ryan and I were freaking out and we felt really helpless," Mary Lynn said.
Around 3 in the morning the couple heard their doorbell ring and through their security camera saw Rajah on their front porch.
Mary Lynn and Ryan have no idea how Rajah learned to ring the doorbell, because, in their household, it rarely gets rung. In fact, they're not even sure when their pup would've seen someone press it at all.
Rajah seemed to be in good spirits albeit just a little dirty.
"She had thorns on her and seemed to have rolled in poop," Whitacre explained to Southwest News Service (SWNS). "So, it seems like she had a great time."
The pup thought, however, that she had done something wrong.
Mary Lynn said, "She thought she was in so much trouble and she was sad and sulking, but we were like ‘we’re just happy you’re back.’ It was hilarious, and we couldn’t stop laughing."
