This photo is one of the engine rooms. The ship needed 600 tons of coal every single day to keep it going. When the ship left Britain, they had over 6,000 tons of coal on board for the long voyage. The furnaces were fueled constantly by workers who had to stay in the engine room for hours at a time. It was an exhausting job that had very hazardous and dangerous conditions.
