Pittsburgh Hospital Knits Newborns Mr. Rogers Cardigans for World Kindness Day

UPMC Magee-Women's Hospital honored Fred Rogers on November 13th, World Kindness Day, in a special way.

Nurse Caitlin Pechin hand-knitted cardigans and booties for the newborns at the Pittsburgh hospital and got them all dressed for a special visitor.

The staff of the women's hospital invited Joanne Rogers, the wife of the late Mr. Rogers to the hospital to see the surprise.

The pair were married for 51 years before Mr. Rogers passed away in 2003.

Mrs. Rogers was delighted with the surprise!

The hospital shared photos from the special day to Facebook and they have since been shared thousands of times.

"We welcomed Pittsburgh's newest neighbors in style for #CardiganDay!" wrote the hospital. "Big thanks to Mrs. Rogers for stopping by!"
