Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell tied the knot just five months ago after changing their wedding plans to accomodate COVID-19 restrictions, and now the couple have just announced that they are pregnant with their first child. "Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021," Irwin captioned her sweet photo. "Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting! It’s an honour to share this special moment in our lives with you."
"Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter," she continued. "We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives. Your support means the world to us." Irwin and Powell have been together nearly seven years, after meeting at Irwin's Australia Zoo. The Irwin's always keep the late Steve Irwin's memory in their lives, and back in 2017, Bindi said her father "would have loved her boyfriend." It's no doubt that he would have loved to become a grandfather, too.
The Irwin family has continued Steve's conservation legacy, and COVID-19 hasn't stopped that mission. The Australia Zoo is still open, though with new social distancing procedures in place. The Irwin family knows these animals still need just as much care as ever, and it's doubtful that even pregnancy will slow Bindi down.
