If you want to have the most successful and production-filled day, use the Pomodoro technique. This technique is pretty simple: Plan your tests. Do a test (uninterrupted and undistracted!) for 25 minutes. Then, take a 5-minute break. Do this four more times (work 25 minutes, 5-minute break) and then take a longer break (usually 15-30 minutes.) If you're subjected to work-from-home life, this is a great technique!

The More You Know

  • Anybody who eats boiled eggs knows the frustration of having one crack. Throwing a little vinegar into the boiling water will keep the egg whites from seeping out.
  • Spray squeaky door hinges in place with a little all-purpose lube, silicone spray or dry Teflon spray.
  • Prevent your bathroom mirror from fogging up after a hot shower with car wax. Apply a small amount of car wax to the mirror, let it dry, then buff with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Find a tall pitcher about the height of your wine bottle and get cooling. Immerse the bottle in ice water with a small handful of salt and turn every few minutes or so.
