Life Hacks That Actually Work

The Guide To Perfectly Parallel Parking

Parallel parking can be a daunting task. Sometimes, the spot is really tight, other times it's too big and you're 3 feet away from the curb. This guide shows the perfect parallel parking hack! It's all about lining up your car (size doesn't matter) and working with your angles. First, line up your front wheels with the front wheels of the car you're parking behind. Next, crank the wheel until you can't anymore. Start backing up into the spot, and then stop when you're at a 45-degree angle from the car you're parking in front of. Crank the wheel the other way, keep backing up, and boom! You're parked.

The More You Know

  • Keep all those personal grooming tools in one place. A magnetic strip in the medicine cabinet can be used to store tweezers, clippers and small scissors.
  • Help keep your home office space organized by using PVC pipe to hide cords. Just wrangle all those computer, mouse, monitor and phone cords and hide them in some PVC pipe.
  • Bubble wrap is a powerful insulator. While on the road, keep your Chunky Monkey from melting by wrapping the pint in plastic bubble wrap. It’ll stay firm for hours.
  • Throw a few ice cubes or a wet washcloth in the dryer with your wrinkled clothes. As the ice melts and the water turns to steam, it will remove the wrinkles. This trick isn’t as effective with heavier clothing but is a miracle for lighter fabrics.
