Around the same time, Jennings had already tried filing multiple appeals from jail. Albeit, all were unsuccessful. Jeffrey Ehrlich then helped get the case re-opened and also helped his son frame their argument very carefully. On October of 2015, Clinton wrote a 34-page letter to the review unit of the Los Angeles District Attorney. In it, he told the authorities the flaws of the case, as well as how the weak evidence was more than enough to let Jennings go free.
