L.A. Air Raid of 1942
Three months after Pearl Harbor, in February of 1942, people claimed to see a Japanese airplane in the L.A. skies. The Air Force were called and they claimed to have shot nearly 1,400 shells at the object. There was no wreckage, and no real evidence that it was even there. Nothing ever showed up on the radar, either. Since the Air Force was involved, many believed that it was covered up amid the war.
