Excitement Surrounds the Bom Jesus
Out of the craziness of the dig, many people became enamored with the ship. In the above photo, there is a miniature replica of what the ship probably looked like to due the findings of the excavation. It was primarily a sailing ship, made to sail the world and to carry precious cargo. Dr. Noli began to speculate why it sank. He came to two conclusions: it was either stormy weather and poor navigation, meaning that they sailed too close to the edge of the coast, or that there was too much weight on the ship causing internal issues. Elephant tusks are heavy!
