Iconic Photos that Capture the Cool, Vintage Vibe of the 50’s through 80’s

John Lennon and Paul McCartney, 1968

Legendary! The two were having a good time with their Parrot friend during their Mad Day Out. The story behind this photo is pretty cool! The band called up famous war photographer Don McCullin to photograph them for an entire day. On July 28th, 1968, the group walked around London taking tons of photos. This soon became known as the ‘Mad Day Out’ because more photographers joined them on the mini-parade around London. Ronald Fitzgibbon, Stephen Goldblatt, Tom Murray, Tony Bramwell, and Mal Evans (with her six-year-old tagged along!) all ran around London together. Yoko Ono and Francie Schwartz also tagged along.
