The Game of Thrones star took to her Instagram to post a story addressing the lack of masks that she noticed out in public during a period of the pandemic where cases are rising. "If I can wear a mask while I give birth, you can wear a mask at Walmart," Sophie said. For whatever reason, people are refusing to wear face coverings while entering indoor public spaces even though, in most states, they're required by law.
This is not the first time Turner has made some sort of public service announcement about mask-wearing. She also addressed it at the start of the pandemic way back in March. "Stay inside. Don't be fucking stupid," she said during an Instagram livestream. "Even if you count your freedom over your health. I don't give a fuck about your freedom." That issue hits home for many, and mask-wearing has become a political issue rather than a matter of science. Wearing a mask prevents the spread of COVID-19, but that's not convincing enough for some people.
Turner gave birth to her first child with husband Joe Jonas in July, and she wore a mask during the entire procedure. She ended her Instagram story with her infamous catchphrase, "And that's' the tea," before signing off. Turner and Jonas have been photographed all year wearing masks in public in hopes of setting a positive example, and it's up to the rest of the country to hopefully follow suit and look out for one another during this uncertain time.
