This was a tough job and some of them â even young boys 10 to 16 years old âfelt the whip.” This is the beginning of becoming transparent with audiences and tourists about what happened at the plantation. For way too long, tour guides and operators of the plantation tried to hide the former President’s past in order to keep his name clean, but they realized that it wasn’t the truth.
