Still, Questions Remain
Jefferson kept a log of all of his slaves (above). Although historians have the names, they don’t have the photos to put to them. Very few of the slaves had their portraits taken. All they have is a name, so that brings a lot of people questioning more about their history. There have been some amazing discoveries with the available info that wouldn’t have been discovered if it wasn’t for people coming forward! This is an amazing discovery because now, these people won’t be forgotten by history. They have their families to remember their name and their struggle.
