Hemings Relatives
Along with weaving Hemings’ life and her family into the tour and history of the museum, curators are also planning on going into a deeper, more comprehensive account of the mountaintop grounds and Hemings’ family. They played a large role in keeping the home in it’s tip top condition, and more people should know about that. The Hemings have distant relatives that are alive today, and they all have mixed feelings about the tour and the legacy that is being presented.
