Gilles always had the plan to never be found: The day after his money was secured from the heist, he made a run for it. He booked it to the border, leaving his girlfriend and young son behind. He desperately wanted to bring them, but the police were already on their tails due to someone’s big mouth. He left in the dead of night to Portugal with just the bags of cash in his hand.
