Four College Students Sent a Letter to a Dog and Got Quite a Response

Jack McCrossan and his three best friends moved to Bristol a few months ago, but there was one friend group who didn't make the cut: their beloved pets. Their landlord informed them that he ran a no-pet residency. So when they spotted a sweet dog living across the street, they had an idea. They needed to write a letter and ask for some more information!

The four boys, in an effort to befriend the neighbor who owned the dog, sent a letter. Inside, the letter read: "If you ever need someone to walk him/her, we will gladly do so," they wrote. "If you ever get bored (we know you never will, but we can dream) we are more than happy to look after him/her. If you want to come over and bring him/her to brighten our day, you are more than welcome. If you want to walk past our balcony windows so we can see him/her, please do. The adult life is a struggle without one...the boys from number 23." The boys didn't have to wait long until they heard back, but it wasn't from the neighbor.

It wasn't the neighbor, it was the dog, who wrote back! "What a treat it was to receive your letter, I love meeting new people and it would be great if we can be friends. I must warn you that the price of my friendship is 5 x ball throws a day and belly scritches whenever I demand them. We here understand how hard it is to find pet-friendly rentals, and life just isn't full without a dog in it, right?! I'd love to hang whenever you fancy." The dog, named Stevie Ticks, is owned by Sarah Tolman. It wasn't long until the two friends finally met up and sparks flew.

Stevie now has tons of followers on Instagram, but more importantly, four new best friends! The boys have befriended Sarah as well, and enjoy hanging out for dinner and beers with the local dog owner. Stevie is happier than ever with her newfound fame, but it hasn't gone to her head. "We keep telling her how many people are following her and interested in her relationship with her new boyfriends," said Sarah "but she just keeps giving me her paw for a treat."
