Ben & Jerry's Releases New "Topped" Line

Ben & Jerry's has never shied away from indulgence—a tendency which is even more evident with its latest release.

The Vermont-based brand has released a lineup of seven new flavors that will have you diving for a spoon before they can thaw on the counter.

The Ben & Jerry's "Topped" series features a generous layer of ganache and other toppings behind the lid of each pint.

The new Topped variety includes the following offerings: Chocolate Caramel Cookie Dough, Strawberry Topped Tart, Tiramisu, Salted Caramel Brownie, Thick Mint, PB Over the Top, and Whiskey Biz.

"We wanted to dial up the indulgence level with this unique line of flavors, which entirely challenges HOW you eat this ice cream," said Dena Wimette, Ben & Jerry's Innovation Guru.

"We started with sundaes and all the things you add to sundaes to make them great as our inspiration," she continued. "You could say we ended up going over the Topped.

In a media preview this week, several Ben & Jerry's spokespeople actually recommended digging into the new Topped flavors with a fork instead of a spoon—the tongs help to sift through the layer of ganache and spear all of those delicious mix-ins.
