This guy really, really loves his dog.
A pet owner in Nokomis, Florida, spent Friday afternoon wrestling his beloved black lab from the mouth of an alligator after the reptile managed to get a hold of the dog on Friday afternoon.
The unidentified man reportedly heard pandemonium ensuing outside his house and ran into the yard to find the dog and gator having it out in the canal behind his house. He then leaped into the water, pried open the alligator’s jaw, and retrieved his injured dog.
Although the man was also injured in the altercation, he and the dog are expected to be fine. A representative for Florida Fish and Wildlife said, “He got injured, either prying the mouth open or—it’s still kinda sketchy of how he got [the injuries], but it was from the alligator.”
