Overwhelmed by the series of unfortunate events, Stevens chose not to tell his wife about his illness. He didn’t go back to the doctor either. However, his wife would later find out after medical services sent him a letter explaining that he needed treatment immediately. Although his wife was pretty supportive of him “hiding” the fact, he only became even more depressed by his situation.
