She was born to her biological mom in New Haven, Connecticut, but was adopted by Illinois couple Nancy and John Phair, who raised her and her adopted brother in their home state. In 2006, Phair told Women's Health, "My parents were very responsible. They said, 'We wanted you more than anything in the whole world.' They were perfect about it."
