The search for the submarine ended when they found out that it actually exploded into pieces.

In 2017, the Argentinian submarine the ARA San Juan set sail for a voyage on the open ocean. Last seen in the San Jorge Gulf when the ship began to experience electrical problems. The issues showed up on record, and the submarine was largely considered to be missing. In actuality, the vehicle exploded and killed all on board.
