Chiefs Player, Derrick Nnadi, Pays Adoption Fees for 109 Shelter Animals Following Super Bowl Win

After taking home their first Super Bowl win in 50 years, the Kansas City Chiefs have been celebrating in various ways.

In the spirit of celebration, Chiefs defensive tackle, Derrick Nnadi, volunteered to pay the adoption fees for every animal at the KC Pet Project in Kansas City, Missouri.

Adoption fees are typically about $150 per pet, but thanks to Nnadi's contribution, all 109 shelter animals at the KC Pet Project has since been adopted.

Animal rescue has been at the heart of Nnadi's entire season. For every win his team notched during the season, he paid for an animal's adoption fee through his foundation. The Chiefs won 15 games.

When news of Nnadi's gesture was shared, people flocked to the animal shelter, waiting outside to adopt a new furry companion. All the adoptable pets were in new homes as of the tenth.

"Wow, what a day!' wrote the KC Pet Project. "We want to thank all of the families who came out today and patiently waited to adopt a pet, and we are beyond grateful to Derrick Nnadi for this incredibly kind gesture helping our city’s pets."
