Josephine Baker
Josephine Baker will forever be remembered as the first African-American woman to star in a major motion picture. She did so in 1934, and she would continue to enjoy three more decades of success as a world-famous entertainer.
Aside from her beauty and for being a pioneer in acting, she was also a known activist during the Civil Rights Movement and was even offered leadership after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated.
