No Safeguards
There wasn’t much to this: Riders climbed into a small sled and head down the track. There were hand breaks that were usually broken, no guard rails, and no real way to stop. From 1984 to 1985, there were 14 fractures and 12 head injuries reporters. One employee was recorded saying, “There are two speeds: slow and death awaits.”
