Action Park: New Jersey’s Favorite Controversial Theme Park

50 MPH Go-Karts

The go-karts in question were originally supposed to only have the highest speed of 20 miles per hour. Park operators figured out a way to get it to 50 miles per hour by wedging a tennis ball in just the right place. They then would take the karts after hours and race around the track and on route 94. People also used these carts more as a bumper kart situation. There were some serious head-on collisions, as well as some good old broken bones.
