Doctors began to use chemotherapy on her in order to shrink the tumor. She spent her first eight months in hospice care with two nurses and began chemo. Due to these life-saving treatments, she continued to live. She was 15 months old when she met the Pope, much longer than anyone had expected! Gianna wasn’t going to give up.
