45. Be spontaneously generous with a stranger at least once a month
Research done at Yale has found out that people are instinctively cooperative and generous. But, since most of us stall and think about helping out first, we end up not doing it at all. The same principle applies to other aspects of our life, including creativity. The longer you put something off, the more likely you don’t end up doing it.
So, be spontaneous. If you ever get that wild thought of paying for the food for someone behind you, just do it and don’t even think about it.
If you see someone having trouble on the road, pull off to the side and see what you can do to help.
When you want to say “I love you” to someone, don’t waste time thinking and just do it.
Many times, snap-decisions turn out to be much better than well thought-out ones.
