Her Inspirations?
Aside from the Backyardigans, she credits her inspirations to all astronauts, “Especially women astronauts as they made the road for me to follow.” The first female in space was Valentina Tereshkova from the Soviet Union, blasting off on the Vostok 6 in 1963. The first American woman in space was Sally Ride, getting into space on the STS-7 in 1983.
