Once Terry Jo found the captain, he was startled by her presence. He completely forgot about her in the boat! In a hurry, he yelled at her to go back to her cabin and shoved her down the stairs. Somehow, he did not have it in him to harm her like he did to her family. Once she went back under the deck, he continued his master plan of sinking his boat.
