"The Artist Formerly Known as Prince," best known for the hit song "Purple Rain," died of an accidental fentanyl overdose after being prescribed the drug for an illness. The week before his death, he was in the hospital recovering from an alleged overdose but left against medical advice. He then went to his recording studio at Paisley Park and a concert with Lizz Wright. The next week, he'd overdosed again. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
