The Unfinished Obelisk
The unfinished obelisk in Aswan, Egypt,Â is the largest ancient obelisk known to man. It’s nearly one third larger than any ancient Egyptian obelisk ever built, measuring in at 138 feet and weighing nearly 1,200 tons. The creators of the obelisk began to carve it directly out of bedrock, but cracks appeared in the granite and the project was abandoned.
