After winning the SAG Award for best ensemble, Kinnear gave thanks to the iconic unsung costar: "I'd like to thank the engineers at Volkswagen for making a beautiful vehicle back in 1969 that is so comfortable, so safe." Fox Searchlight hosted a special screening of the film in California for VW bus owners, and one of the screen-used buses is on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
