Cropsey – Staten Island, NY
Staten Island has one of the most notorious myths of all time: Cropsey. The story has it that he was an escaped mental patient who had a hook for a hand and went on a run kidnapping and killing children. This urban legend has some truth behind it. In the 1970’s, the children of Staten Island were in danger. Many kids were reported missing and even found murdered all around the area. In the 1970’s, Andre Rand was convicted of the kidnappings and murders of the children and is now nicknamed Cropsey.
