Corpse Light – Cape Henlopen, DE
This town does not have a lighthouse, but a phantom light might say otherwise. This phantom light has taken lives on the seas, as it confuses ship and boat operators. The first record of an accident is from 1665, when 200 men died after the boat crashed and the operator claimed to see the distracting light. Apparently, this light is a curse from a Native American tribe after British soldiers crashed a wedding and slaughtered members of the tribe.
