Selena Gomez Criticized For Attempting To Purchase All of Her Own Albums

Her single "Lose You to Love Me" has already reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, with the rest of the album anticipated to follow to the top of the chart. However, though it's fine to promote your own work as an artist - and they all do it - fans have criticized Selena for taking the self-promo a little too far. She has been pleading with fans to buy and stream the release and has even been buying many physical copies herself.

In a recent Instagram video post, she was seen running errands with her friends so they could scoop up as many albums as possible. But why? "One more day to see if I can buy as many albums as possible," Selena said before her friends listed off the stores they'd be stopping by.

"Am I kind of desperate for doing this?" Selena said at the end of the video. "I don't care. I don't care, because this album is so rare." Good joke, Selena. We get it. Though she swears this isn't a numbers thing, she keeps asking fans to buy and stream Rare. "It's not about numbers for me, but I would love the most important album I've ever released to become number one." So, it seems like... it is about numbers.
