Lil Bow Wow (now just "Bow Wow") was a massive star in the early 2000s. When he dropped his first album, Beware of Dog, in 2000, he instantly became one of the most popular rappers of the year. This album went double platinum, which ended up getting him film gigs and features on Snoop Dogg songs. After he released his second album, nearly ten years later, he dropped the "Lil" and the rest is history.
