A Big Mac Fell from Space and Landed on an English Soccer Team’s Training Grounds

By 3 weeks ago

When Colchester United discovered a Big Mac on their practice grounds, they weren’t sure what to think. For one thing, the burger was strapped to a container and a GoPro camera, which was already bizarre enough. After some investigative research, the team figured out what was really going on.

YouTuber Tom Stanniland had an idea: he was going to try and send a burger to space. He ordered a Big Mac from McDonald’s and then attempted to send it into space by tying it to a weather balloon. Although the burger reached surprising heights—around 26 miles, or 137,280 feet—the balloon popped and the burger fell back to Earth.

Stanniland did end up trying to eat the burger. He noted that it was very dry.
